Karida had just 17 minutes to reach her meeting, but she was dressed to impress: a sleek black suit, a crisp white shirt, and fabulous golden heels. And of course, she was behind the wheel of her beloved yellow “Butterfly-mobile,” covered in cheerful ladybugs and flowers, radiating enough optimism to light up a small village.
As she confidently took a turn onto what Google Maps cheerfully labeled as a “drivable shortcut,” she unexpectedly confronted a puddle that looked like it was on its way to becoming a lake! She paused for a moment, hesitated, then decided to step out.
In hindsight, that might not have been the best choice. To add to her troubles, the car suddenly decided it wasn’t going to work, right next to a big puddle.
As she stepped out, the puddle greeted her heels like a joyful puppy welcoming its owner after a long time apart. Squish, splash, squelch!
With a dramatic side-eye at the puddle, she declared, “Not today, Satan,” and popped open the hood like a true champion. After five seconds of staring at the engine as if it were a confusing IKEA manual, she realized this wasn’t going to work and shifted to her backup plan: pool therapy!
Luckily, there was a cozy indoor pool just nearby.
After a wet business suit and a little splash, Karida felt amazing. Her shoes were soaked, her shirt clung to her dramatically, but her makeup stayed flawless.
“Best detour of the year!” she whispered to herself, gliding through the water like a CEO mermaid having a blast.
